BERNE, Ind. -- DRG, a leader in the craft and nostalgia markets, is the publisher of a full-size book for knitters titled A Year of Afghans. The book is produced under DRG's House of White Birches brand and features the best from Annie's Attic.

A Year of Afghans includes a variety of designs that range from the simplest stitch combinations to skill-building projects that incorporate cables, textured stitches, slipped stitches, bobble accents, mitering and color work.

With 52 knitted afghan projects that range in skill levels from beginner through intermediate, the 128-page book includes color photos and line-by-line instructions with each afghan pattern. It retails for $19.95 and is available from the Annie's Attic catalog, accessible online at AnniesAttic.com.

Kara Gott Warner is the book's editor. In 2008, Warner began working as a freelance knit editor for DRG, focusing on books. In 2010, she joined the company as the executive editor for knitting publications, including Creative Knitting magazine. Her designs have also been featured in other leading knitting magazines.

DRG publishes consumer magazines, pattern books and related products sold direct to consumers through catalogs and the Internet and through wholesale and trade channels, offering quality publications under additional leading consumer brands that include Annie's Attic, American School of Needlework, Clotilde and Good Old Days.

Most DRG print products are also available for download via the Internet. Knitters can access DRG patterns, products and information from the DRG website at DRGnetwork.com.

DRG is located in Berne, Ind., and is in its third generation as a privately owned family business with two major business divisions; one in magazine and book publishing and consumer catalogs, and the other in subscription and product fulfillment.
