Sweatshirts redesigned in new HWB pattern book

BERNE, Ind.--House of White Birches, popular brand of nationally-known publisher DRG, has released a new sewing pattern book called Sweatshirts with a Twist. Edited by Julie Johnson, editor of Sewing Savvy magazine, the book retails for $14.95.

Sweatshirts with a Twist includes 12 patterns for redesigning ordinary sweatshirts into unique wearables for fall and winter. The book begins with instructions for cutting, making sewing machine adjustments, using interfacing, and using a serger to seam, with technique tips for adding appliques. It then offers step-by-step instructions for individual sweatshirt redesigns.

Included in the book are jacket and vest patterns that incorporate contrasting stitching, peekaboo appliques and contrasting materials. Also included are informative sewing insights and detailed instructions, with valuable sewing tips that can be used for future sewing projects as well.
