BERNE, Ind. -- DRG, a leader in the craft and nostalgia markets, publishing magazines and books and offering kits and supplies under popular consumer brands, has published a new full-size knitting book, The Perfect Finish. The book is produced as a 176-page guide to finishing techniques for knitters at all skill levels and retails in a softcover edition for $19.95.

The finishing methods in The Perfect Finish are presented in an easy-to-understand format, with step-by-step instructional photos. The book begins with the basics, offering a rundown of the most important tools and equipment, followed by comprehensive chapters on finishing.

Knowledgeable teachers and designers have provided insights that walk knitters through each chapter, presenting clear and helpful instructions on some of the most basic and valuable knitting finishing techniques, including help for neckline and collar treatments, buttonholes, pockets, hems and facings, zippers and other finishing projects.

Kara Gott Warner is the book's editor. In 1997, she began designing knitted and crocheted garments and accessories, selling on the craft and artisan show circuit. She soon branched off to knitting patterns and kits, and in 2002, established igottknits, an independent knitting pattern collection sold through yarn shops and several online venues.

In 2008, Warner began working as a freelance knit editor for DRG, focusing on books. In 2010, she joined DRG as the executive editor for the company's knitting publications, including Creative Knitting magazine. Her designs have also been featured in other leading knitting magazines.

The Perfect Finish is published under the House of White Birches brand. Additional DRG brands include Annie's Attic, The Needlecraft Shop, Clotilde and American School of Needlework.

The book is available online at the Annie's Attic website at AnniesAttic.com.

DRG is in its third generation of family ownership. In addition to magazines and books, the company offers kits and supplies sold under its five leading consumer brands. Most print products are also now available for download via the Internet from the company website at DRGnetwork.com.
