BERNE, Ind.--Annie's Attic, a brand of nationally known publisher DRG, has released a new crochet pattern book, Learn Slip Stitch Crochet. The 18-page book includes nine projects and retails for $7.95.

Learn Slip Stitch Crochet includes step-by-step instructions for slip stitch technique crocheting, with patterns written in skill levels that range from easy to intermediate. Projects include a lap afghan, a rib stitch cap, a rib stitch scarf, a cable striped purse and an oval rug.

Slip stitch crochet is the oldest crochet technique available in print. It was first referred to in 1812 as shepherd's knitting, with the earliest published patterns appearing in 1834. Slip stitch crochet can be worked either in rows or in the round, and is typically worked through only one loop of the stitch from the previous row, giving it a different look, depending on whether the stitch is worked on the back loop or the front loop.

Most of the materials used in Learn Slip Stitch Crochet are available from local craft, fabric and variety stores. Supplies can also be purchased from the Annie's Attic needlecraft catalog at AnniesAttic.com.

Annie's Attic publishes a wide variety of high quality needlecraft publications and craft patterns known for exceptional instructional accuracy and clarity and for brilliant, creative photography. Every book includes a stitch guide and a list of needlecraft abbreviations.

Learn Slip Stitch Crochet is available from the Annie's Attic catalog, both in its printed format and also from the Internet at AnniesAttic.com.
