Good Old Days magazine: a look back in time
![]() |
Good Old Days has a distribution of more than a quarter-of-a-million readers and is now in its fifth decade of publication, with stories written by readers who recount personal experiences from an earlier time in our nation's history. The magazine features a variety of first-hand accounts and continues to attract new readers and writers, even after more than 40 years on the market.
"We look for general interest nostalgic reminiscences that are unique and enjoyable," said Editor Ken Tate. "The magazine celebrates a dramatic era that began with the Great Depression and lasted through the 1960s, with stories that highlight life during a time when the pace was slower and the enjoyments were simpler."
The September issue includes stories called "Country Schoolmarm," "Memories of a Model T," "Daddy Was a Butcher" and "My First Picture Show." In all, there are more than 25 personal stories, as well as regular features that include Good Old Days in the Kitchen, Old-Time Music, Looking Back and Good Old Days on Wheels.
Good Old Days is produced under the House of White Birches brand name. It was first published in the New England area, but in the 1980s was purchased by the Muselman family and moved to the Midwest town of Berne, Ind., to become part of the DRG family of brands.
